After a delicious breakfast

We headed around the corner to KUL to take our places

More on the lectures to follow... But a tour off the city of Lublin now

  1. Mornings in Lublin were rather fantastic due both to the feast of a breakfast at the hotel as well as the excellent lectures. The lectures on Monday were titled "The History of Poland - an Outline," "Ethnic Minorities in Polish History," "Communist Poland - Transition to Democracy - Present Polish Political Scene," and "John Paul II and Communist Poland." Each was given by a KUL professor, and gave me a much better understanding of Polish history. To be completely honest, before this trip, I knew very little about the history of Poland, so hearing these well-delivered lectures really expanded my knowledge. I learned so much!

  2. Learning about the history and theology of Poland before going on tours and sightseeing I though helped me gain a better understanding of Polish culture and the country itself, more than if I had simply toured without some context into which to put what I was seeing.
