  1. I really enjoyed the lecture about St. Faustina, I didn't know much about her beforehand so it was particularly beneficial to learn about her life before going to the Shrine of Divine Mercy. I also found the point from Thaddeaus about why the world was given yet another icon of Jesus, because it was received between the two world wars and at that time more than ever the world needed to be reminded that God is merciful, was particularly compelling. I've seen that icon hundreds of times but I'd never considered its history until that moment.

  2. All the lectures today were just fascinating -- the speakers discussed St. Faustina and the Black Madonna of Czestochowa, and the mix of history and theology was a great blend. I actually ended up ordering the Richard Viladesau book the second lecturer drew from, "Theology and the Arts: Encountering God through Music, Art and Rhetoric." It may have been an impulsive Amazon purchase, but he recommended it and the topic was really interesting to me so I hope I can keep learning about it!
